The biker jacket, stylish classic
The current heatwave is forcing most of us to seek shade. Unprecedented levels of heat drive us to find a natural cool. This is the same with fashion. We are all looking for that cool design, the epic style that transforms the mundane to the chic and stylish, or ruggedly chic and stylish. Men’s fashion has taken on leaps and bounds in recent times, and leather is the one constant within the fashion world that continues to evolve by way of innovation and technology.
The freak weather will soon abate, but you might want to add a light weight cropped leather jacket to your wardrobe. Maybe an evening trip to the local? Perhaps a drive along the night’s emptier roads with the roof down? You’ll require just enough leather to keep the cooler night air out, whilst being light enough to moderate your own internal climate before the sun eventually concedes defeat to the moonlit sky.
Fashionable takes on the famous biker jacket are a worthwhile consideration. As a fashion statement rather than a protective shield, the men’s leather biker jacket can morph into a light weight, free from the restraints imposed upon it when purchased for use instead of accessory.
Leather Biker Jackets by Leather Company Outerwear
It can still be rebellious, as the wearing of one has always conjured such heroic images in the mind’s eye. It can still be made with zipper pockets that contrast nicely with the natural patina of the leather, so its casual without being low key. But, because you choose a high-quality leather jacket, over an also ran, you can have edgy with class, so you walk down two roads without having to cross from one to the other.
It really makes a great leather jacket. The obvious nod to its roots, as a protector to the brave warriors of the road, which lends to it the free, individualistic vibe, combined with a tweak or two of the classic design by way of great styling and tailoring.
But, how to wear it, and what to wear with it?
I’m glad you asked. Its light weight, and its summer, with the autumn beginning to peak above the horizon. So, as a rule of thumb, you wear it open, despite the zip front fastening, which on a fashion leather biker jacket is merely another accessory, a shiny bit of metal to add contrast, or matching colour to blend into the jacket itself. If you really want to look the part, and assuming you might have chosen to get a black biker, put on a black, low neck T-shirt, to show off your weekend garden tan that you’ve been dying to let everyone know you have. For your pants, a pair of jeans of some description is a must.
Leather Jackets and Jeans?
Leather jackets and jeans are a good marriage in any era, but a biker style jacket and a pair of jeans is a match made in heaven. They don’t have to ripped jeans, but if they are, all the better. And if they’re skinny fit, ripped jeans you’re cooking on gas. Finish off the ensemble with a pair of your best sneakers, or a skimpy pair of slip-on’s. Better still wear a pair of lace up pumps, and what are laces made for, today? To not tie them up!
Of course, a pair of black, bootleg cut jeans and a matching pair of ankle high boots will exude class, and imitate, with some artistic licence, the tradition of the biker jacket, the essence of which has been immortalised by Marlon Brando, and perhaps more commercially and more light-heartedly, by Henry Winkler playing the Fonz in Happy Days.
Happy days indeed! There are no rules, that’s the reality, but we all automatically know style when we see it, and we appreciate it, too. The best accessory to wear with a leather biker jacket, or any other leather for that matter, is confidence. That always shows and always looks good. And, what’s more, confidence, like the leather biker, will never go out of fashion.
